? on reeds

Default ? on reeds

will it help performance if I go with a aftermarket reed but the stock cage?

I would get the V-Force reeds with the cage and all, and if you want better trottle response get the reed spacer.

New reeds in the stock cage may seal better than your old ones, so no air/fuel mix will escape back. That may give you slightly more air/fuel into your engine, but an immeasurable amount in actual practice. Aftermarket cages like the V-Force give more volume by their design, and thus measurably more mixture making it into the cylinder. That is a long winded way of saying you probably won't see much difference with just reeds unless your stockers are really worn out, but you probably will with a set of V-Force or similar.

well i am running a hpd pipe with what I belive is a plane cluch spring air box mod with k&n, 1 tooth lower front sproket. that is about it

id get a clutch kit made for the hpd pipe and then the v-force reeds if you have the money..

one of the local dealers hade a set of the Boysen reeds laying around said I can get for 20.00 just didn't know if they would help what do you expect for $20.00 I guess also a quick ? I am running a 320 main jet by what I have seen I guess that is high but the plug looks nice an tan just wondering you thoughts ? thanks for the help!!

your machine is stock except for the pipe?if so the 320 jet is way to big.i think hpd sent me a 260 to use with their trail pipe,right now with the mods i have im running a 310..

that is my thought but I was always used a stock air filter when I bought a k&n i had to put a 320 my 300 jet was spitting and spuddering till i put the 320 in i quess it runs good i'll leave it alone still sounds high to me [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
