Engine brake problem with 6x6
#1
I have a Polaris Big Boss 6x6. When the engine brake comes on, to slow down the unit, it starts clicking very loud (sounds like gears jumping). Does this both going forward and reverse. What is wrong? What do I need to adjust?

Isn’t a Big Boss the older chain-drive version of the Sportsman 6x6? If I’m correct on this, your machine is pre-EBS, which means it really doesn’t have engine braking.
I remember on our older machines we could engage a little engine braking by keeping the clutch from free-wheeling, which was kind’a weird because you’d have to apply throttle to use the engine to slow down. Your description of the noise sounds more like a chain slipping on a sprocket than a clutch problem, but that’s just a guess.
