I picked a new 800 efi last saturday. It runs great, but I hear a hoise in the right side of the engine. It is there after engine is warmed up. Sounds like a gear noise. Loud enough to hear above the exhaust . once you apply throttle it goes away. I took it back to dealer today, He is going to check with polaris. This is really disappointing for a new 8000 dollar plus machine. Any thoughts or opinions as to what this may be? Thanks! RLB

 

are you talking about gear noise or clutch noise....all polaris machines make noise, especially at low speeds when getting on and off the throttle....the 800 is the same...sounds like a clunking noise....cannot hear it from idle though, just sitting there....so if you hear it without moving, then its a different issue

 

I have the same noise. Don't know what it is, but it's on the right side right by my foot area.

 

I only hear it at idle, not moving. It is different than the driveline noise when riding. sounds like loose gears,
