Knocking out the washer
#1
ok, so, so i dont screw up anything on my pretious 800, im putting the old 500 back to work. I got this 6.5x17 foot car trailer behind the barn and whenever it gets even misting out with rain, we cant pull the 7000lbs diesel up the hill or it'll make 5" deep ruts in the ground. so, a ATV would be better to pull the trailer out.
so, on the old pre-hitch quads that had the little toung lip thingamabober on the back, theres a slot to put a 3/4 inch thread ball in there. my dads trailer uses a 1" thread. there is this washer thats in it that looks like if you hit it hard enough with a hammer it'd pop out, but it looks liek it might be welded in place. my question is is there anyway i can pop that out to fit the 2 5/16" ball for the trailer there so i can haul it out from behind the barn easy, or do i have to buy a reciver for the hitch on my 800 and port the hole out to 1" with a drill bolt from good ole wallyworld
