Default Instrument cluster fogging up?

I have a 2004.5 500HO and when I take my quad out of the garage and into the sun, the instrument cluster fogs up real bad. It takes about two hours for it to clear. Is it normal? Is this bad? I've washed the quad but not for months. I have not been in the rain or mud yet. I thought you could ride these things in the rain and mud. Has anyone else had this problem?

Do you use a pressure washer?

No, no pressure washer. My quad should be dry as a bone. I only use it when it's dry outside. I washed it like I wash my truck. rinse it off, soap it up, and rinse again. I hand dry it, then take it out for a drive. I then let it dry in the sun all day before I put it away in the garage. The lase time I washed it was about two to three months ago. I use it at least once a week, and the instrument cluster has been fogging up the last few times. One thing is it gets pretty cold at night in the garage about 35*, then the sun comes out and I put it in the sun while I warm it up. I think it's just condensation, but I'm not sure if thats ok.

redmtn, the new clusters have a vent hole in them. you may have gotten some moisture in it and it needs dried. try taking a hair dryer and warming the back of it to dry it out. just don't overheat it to the point of melting.

Thanks for your help. I only have about one month left on my warranty, so I just wanted to know if this is just a start to a failure and should get it fixed before it does fail. Thanks.

I would just try a hair drier ... it sounds like theres just a little water in it.

PS: Make sure the speedo is on tight ... the ring around it has a rubber gasket to help keep the water out of the vent hole.

my cluster lens is fogged up but almost looks like it's smudged or something, I asked the dealer about it during my last repair and he said it's normal but I bugs the hell out of me cause I can't see my info through the lens.

Yup, one of my pet peaves, downright unacceptable in 2005. I'd rather have less bells and whistles in my pod and no moisture than fancy digital nonsense that is unreadable through the fog. HELLO POLARIS, WE'LL TAKE READABLE OVER FANCY ANYTIME. Stuff like this keeps many away form Polaris, as simple as it is. What the !@#$ do they put in their water toys? I mean really! Think I need a chill pill!
