Don't know for sure on the Predator, but when I had my 400ex I put a tether on it & same thing..... no instructions. What I did was traced the wires back from my kill switch on the bars to under the plastic where it was hidden, CAREFULLY razor bladed off the tape/wire coating, found the hot wire thru trial & error & then grounded the black wire. Hope this helps some, I'm sure Pred. owners will chime in here for further help.

under the front plastic is a connector not hooked to anything if you get two spade tips for the wires on the kill switch you just plug one in to each side and then tape it up. the wires going into the connector is 2 brown and 2 black. they had it wired for a kill switch.

So I am assuming that with the kill switch attached (running) it is an open circuit, and when it is removed (engine cut) it closes the circuit? I would think it would be the other way around, so it could just open the ignition wire on a quad that was not pre-wired.

no what you are doing is grounding the ignition and that is what kills it. the kill switch is open till you pull the clip then it closes and causes the ground.

Oh I see, thanks. Like the kill on my leaf blower, it has a pin that pokes throught the back of the spark plug's rubber cap and shorts it to the block.
