I'll see if I can get some pics up tonight, But you should be able to pull straight out on the bottom and straight out on the top (theres little clips up there to pull on) and it will come off. It has 4 plastic pegs that stick into rubber gromets. The screws hold the plastic pegs in.

Good Luck, Jeff

Whenever my pics get approved theres some with the screen off. You have to tug pretty hard on it just make sure you pull straight on it or you'll break the pegs like I did.

Good Luck, Jeff

Default Polaris Over Heated..

I just purchased an 05 Sportsman in February 2005. On my first trip it overheated. Yes, it was muddy, but a showroom clean sportsman should be able to handle one trip in the mud. After cleaning it up, drying out, etc. I found that the fan is not running. I only hope that this is not common.

It doesn't matter if you were sitting on the end of the assembly line and got your machine, if the radiator clogs with mud, it will overheat, just like my honda did, and just like my yamaha and just like my polaris did....

as far as the fan running, unless you caused a short, etc., then it should run when it gets hot...but even if it runs and your radiator is plugged, it will overheat...

The screen just pulls off ... start at the top and then pull it off at the bottom at the tow bar.

As for the FAN ... i've found that mud will dry on the fan blades and get it stuck ... just reach in and give it a spin.
