Ideas on losing weight on the scrambler
Remove the electric start, battery, floorboards, there's a lot of extra wiring you can remove once you remove the starter and battery. I have only the essential wiring for spark, I have no ignition switch or on off switches, except for a tether kill switch. Cut the plastic, remove the chain guard on rear axle. Remove the reverse gear in the transmission.

Ideas on losing weight on the scrambler
I got 46 pounds off of my scrambler by removing the following things.
radiator fan
floor boards, mud flaps and foot pads.
shaved front fenders
starter and battery
airbox
replaced head light and removed healight cage.
different silencer.
I left the wiring inplace incase I ever wanted to go back. I plan to remove oil injection tonight if one of the bolts will cooperate with a different screw driver.
I hear the rear sprocket gaurd weighs 5 pounds of rotating mass.
lighter rims and tires are good as well.

PolarisFreek.
are those the kenda front maxes on your quad? how do you like them I'm thinking of getting the same ones if they are.
also since you removed your rear sprocket gaurd do you run a swing arm skid plate? I have thought of doing this but woods ride, I know you woods ride the race pipe so was just curios if you have had any problems, etc.

Ideas on losing weight on the scrambler
Back in 98/99 time frame, I went thru this same project as you to save about 54lbs. I just used a bathroom scale w/ my weight holding the parts then minus my weight, 3 times each. You can save more by having frame lightened for about 30 more lbs, going chromoly on swing arm, steering post etc but it cost $$$.
