I'm not saying your wrong, but you don't here people buying ITP C-series or Vision 160 rims for there Sportsman and changing there wheel studs. They would need new lug nuts, but I can't see changing studs. I have a stock 800 rim right in front of me, and where in meets the hub to where the lug nut goes is only about a 3/8".

Well not tring to be a smart ***, but been there done that, I have a 800, I removed the wheels, and put ITP type c-6 27"with mudlights, These went on no problem, due to the deep nature of the ITP lug nuts. I also have a 05 330 magnum, The wheels fit, but the studs are too short, they just barely catch about 1/8 in of threds, they would bolt up, but it would be very unsafe. Same stud on the 330 is own my sons 05, 700, The steel wheel studs are shorter than the new studs for the new alloy wheels. So eyeball it all you want, but if you just buy wheels,( this is just for people wanting to use stock 800 alloys on sportsman's that came with steel wheels) you wont be riding on them, till you change the studs, another thing I learned is, dont buy 10" wide front tires for a 05, they will rub the tie rod ends, I had to change mine out for 9in, to solve this problem, or you would have to use spacers.

Like I said I'm not saying your wrong. It's just funny that a lot have bought aftermarket cast aluminum wheels and yet no one has complained that they have to change studs. So those who have, must be only threading there lugs only a few turns.

We were talking about just the polaris stock 800 alloy wheels going on a polaris non 800 model, not a aftermarket wheel made to fit any 4 on 156mm hub. ITP's. or any others. ITP's will fit a 800 or any model, but unless you have longer studs you can not install the "stock 800 alloy" on a polaris with the short stud used on there steel wheels. looking is fine, but if you want to find out who is right, try putting one on a buddies 700 or other model, I did and I know it wont work, heck if it did I would be a happy camper and we wouldnt be beating our gums about it.

Good info oldad, the Vision 160 and 161 must be thinner in the mounting face . They come with caps and lugs and are similar to the 800 alloy in looks.
I was thinking of buying the 800 instead of the 160's and now I may need to rethink this.

Same company made the stock 800 alloys for polaris. notice the cuts on the rim face, look familar? Just another note on aftermarket wheels, all the new ITP's to fit Polaris have centercaps available now to fit them.

The wheels look great but I am not impressed with the front rims. The BEad locking look alike ring sticks out to far. It is just about Flush with the rubber portion of the tire. I road my 800 for the first time down a trail that has some ruts in it and I hit the corner of the bead-lock ring quite a few times. I now have 1-3 large (1/8-1/4" deep) chunks of aluminum missing from the beat lock ring portion of my front rims. The rear rims are in far enough and did not have a problem with the corners of the bead lock ring hitting anything.

Personally If my machine didn't come with alluminum rims and I was planning on putting aluminum rims on my machine I would NOT buy the 800 Rims unless I had a wider front tire to put on them where the rubber would stick out farther than the rim. Or I would get the ITP rims.

Yup, 1st day out w/ mine I gouged the crap out of both fronts.

Seems to happen w/ everything I own, though.

if you guys can, take a pic of your damaged front rims. you took "chunks" out of them already?

that sounds pretty bad for a brand new ATV.
