So if you switch the AWD button off you have two wheel drive and with AWD button on you have crazy lock 4X4? Would the larger wheels have to be in the front? Now I like the way mine works stock so I would never do it. Just a thought...

I had wondered why my 99 Xplorer was so much more difficult to steer while in AWD.
I had a test ride on an 04 SP700 and was amazed in how easy it was to drive around while AWD was engaged.... now I understand why.
With my Xplorer, the AWD button engages the hubs directly, and since mine uses 3 chains, everything is directly driven, so in my case, all 4 wheels are always engaged when AWD is on.

Ok guys, I screwed up my calculation somehow, so I want to put the numbers down so someone else can verify them if need be. Always good to have a second set of eyeballs on the problem.
The rear gear ratio is 40 teeth/13 teeth = 3.08
The front gear ratio is 22 teeth/12 teeth * 22 teeth/11 teeth * 24 inch tire/23 inch tire = 3.83
The percent difference is 3.83/3.08 * 100% - 100% = 24 %
It seems this quad has a higher percent difference that the scrambler we calculated on the other thread.

I dont want to hi jack the thread, just a quick question. Are there any good websites out there for the polaris ute owners? Kind of like what nyroc has going for the big jap utes. For those of us who want to read up more on the system.

Numbers look good, BryceGTX. I think 95sport400 has it right, GST99's hubs must be having a problem.
Hondabuster, I don't know of any sites like that, but I have never looked. This is the first site I found, and I've never looked else for a good one.
I just got home from school, and I have vacation for a whole week . But I have a tournament two hours away, so I'm gone all day Monday-Friday. Thats ok, though, its still not school.
