i think it would be too confusing to start a new one, just unsubscribe from this one. Just hit the "arrow pointing to the piece of paper" icon on any post in any thread and uncheck this one.

My question would be... why would my steering be harder?
It has been like this since I bought the machine a little over a year ago, it has new Polaris hub fluid, I removed both hilliards and inspected and cleaned them a few months ago. They both looked good and I changed the spring on the right one since it seemed a little relaxed.
The steering did get a little better when I put on the mudlites, but it is definitely harder when in AWD.
I have never had a problem with it, as when I truly need AWD, I am in slippery conditions and usually sideways most of the time anyways

Then the hubs must be engaging when they shouldnt be, and that locks all the wheels together. While turning, they need to turn different speeds, but they all just want to pull you forward. I think the problem lies in your hubs. You said they both seem to be in good condition, so i don't know what to say. Try testing somehow to see if you are actually in AWD all the time.
sorry i cant be of more help,

Hey GST97. Could you post the number of teeth and where they are positioned for all of your sprockets. We should check that all the sprockets are in the right place and none of them were changed. It would be very easy for a mehanic to mix the sprockets and it cause exactly your problem. I'm not sure your hubs are sticking because then you might have a problem in 2wd or a pulling to one side. Below is a list of sprockets and there position from rear to front:
Rear axle: 40 teeth
Front sprocket on rear axle chain: 13 teeth
Rear sprocket on middle chain: 11 teeth
Front sprocket on middle chain: 22 teeth
Rear sprocket on front chain: 12 teeth
Front sprocket on front chain: 22 teeth
Thanks

I will have to check the teeth the next time I go out.
I bought a new set of front sprockets and a chain since the front sprocket has 1 tooth busted off. Doesnt hurt it functionally since the chain is holding onto many teeth at any given time.
I had never really thought about incorrect gearing causing it, I had always just thought it was an older design
when I dont have the AWD switch engaged, it does indeed go to 2WD, as the fronts wont spin. Steering in 2WD is just fine (after I installed the metal/brass lower steering bushing that is)
The hubs don't 'seem' to stick, as when I disengage AWD it will go back to letting the rears spin.
But I will definitely check teeth
