aftermarket warranties

has anybody dealt with them? im looking at one from a company called warranty direct for 499.00 for 48 mos.does anyone know if polaris accepts this warranty or how it works? the sales rep said all you do is give them the warranty card, they submit the bill to the warranty co. and they pay it,no deductible, does that mean i dont get the quad back till its paid for?..polaris warranty is 595.00 for the same time 48 mos. any help would be apreciiated thanks

just got an online price from the same company, guess first quote was a mistake..they now say it can be covered for 48 mos. for only 379.00..100% with no deductble, sounds too good to be true..i asked them to give me a contact at a polaris dealer in mass that they have dealt with so i know if polaris will honor it..still looking for input from anyone that has any knowledge of this type of aftermarket warranty thanks again

I do not have any experience with these particular aftermarket warranties, but some of the pitfalls to avoid:
1. Will parts be replaced with aftermarket parts or original Polaris equipment? Sometimes aftermarket would be better, but You should have a choice on which parts are installed.
2. Will the labor rate be the amount charged by the dealer or will the warranty company pay some sort of agreed upon rate with you being stuck with the remainder?
3. Will the local dealers commit to honoring this warranty for 4 years? I guess, whats in it for them?
4. Is this a reputable company that will not go belly up in a year?
5. Are all parts covered? What do they consider to be normal wear items? I bought the extended warranty on my Jeep Wrangler only to find out later that the hydralic unit within the clutch is considered a wear item.
6. Can the warranty be transferred? I know the Polaris warranty can?
Hope this helps. A few questions can safe a lot of cussing later

im not sure if it has to be under the original warranty ? you can give this place a try.
http://www.warrantydirect.com
or do a search on yahoo or such on extended warranties..good luck,im not sure if im going to go with it yet im waiting for some more info on whats covered..they keep telling me different prices, now its back to 499. they said i got my quote as a motorcycle and that is cheaper but not what i need, some b/s.. im not sure but it might be worth the extra 100. and get it thru polaris dealer to save grief over what is and isnt covered or do i get original parts an such..good luck

Maybe I misunderstand how this whole extended warranty works.
My dealer sells a warranty from a company called Pinnacle. As far as I know, there is no POLARIS extended warranty.
The way I understand it is, Polaris has nothing to do with whether a repair is covered or not, after the original warrranty. It is between you, the dealer, and the warranty company. Really is no more than an insurance policy.
Am I wrong ? This is how an extended warranty works with a used car.

well one of the first things the warrantydirect co. asks is if its still under original warranty, dont know why or if it has to be?and you are correct it has nothing to do with polaris the manufacturer, the independent dealers purchase deals with companies to offer the buyer extended warranties

I think Polaris does offer an extended warranty. I got something from them that specifically said it was from Polaris and was an extension of the original warranty. I think my dealer sells a different plan though.
