Looking at a used 2001 Sportsman 500 HO at a local Polaris dealer. Told me $3200.00 for it.....his tagged price was $3999.00. Does this sound like a good deal and what all should I look for? My dad owns the same year machine and he hasn't had any problems with it. This one has 3200 miles on it but looks to be in good shape. What things should I check besides front end slop, oil burning, etc.? I went on a 120 mile ride last fall with a coworker in southwestern Wisconsin with my dads borrowed ride and decided that I need one myself. Thanks in advance, Brian

 

3200 miles is alot of seat time for that kind of cash I think. does it have any goodies on it or is it stock? Kelly Blue Book's trade in value in excellent condition is $2880 and dealer retail value is $4195. you may find a good deal on ebay or in the classifieds.

 

I have an 01 SP 400 with 500 miles on it and I would say it is in very good condition for the year. I went to a dealer and asked him what it was worth and without seeing it said the most it would be worth is $2800. For that price I kept it. I know its not the same machine but maybe it will give you an idea. BART
