Coolant leak?
#11
My '03 600 leaked coolant for first 500 miles out of the weep hole only when it was below freezing and it sat for a week or more...
dealer couldn't get it to leak... I may also have overfiled the reservoir... didn't leak at all last summer or fall. My new 'o5 sp700 has only 45 miles on it, and after the first 15 I also had a puddle underneath, found the hose clap was loose. tightened all clamps, topped up
and so far okey. will see tjis spring when I get some miles on, but I think its the nature of the beast with the "mechanical" seal that
is used. I'ved learned to be more patient with these machines since I bought my first one... and it helps when you can fix a lot of it
yourself.

My 700 Sportsman also started leaving small puddles after sitting all night. After coming up short for a reason as to why it might be doing this, I finally took it to the dealer using the warranty option. At first they couldn't find an answer, so then they kept it under 24 hour watch and one night they figured it out ; late at night they noticed, that was when it'd start to drip, and the witnessing tech. swore that he heard sobbing. As it turns out, when the 700 spent too much time alone it would replay a conversation it had over-heard my brother and I having about my getting rid of the 700. I guess it became un-stable and wept green tears of grave sadness. They put it under suicide watch for a week, and instructed that I get it off-road counseling. It took some time, but finally it excepted that it was the card life dealt it. Hope this was some help

Man im glad im not the only one!! Mine has been in the shop twice to replace the water pump seal, and it only had 125 miles the first time and 218 the last time. I now have 348 on it and it is leaking again. It kinda makes me mad!!! I did tighten the hose clamp that goes to the pump and it seems to have stop it this time. I think i will double clamp that hose and see if this helps. My warranty runs out march 11 so i either buy the extended, or hope the problem is fixed. It is a 2005 700 EFI

Same thing here, I just had mine in for its 10 hour check up. I picked it up Friday.
Went out today fired it up and it started to leak. I found that it was leaking at the bottom of the water pump.
Having said that, after it ran for a few munites and warmed up the leak came to a stop.
It leaked out about a 4 inch puddle. Any idea if the cold has anything to do with the seal leaking.
Overall I'm very happy so far with my 700efi.
