Default Coolant leak?

I have an '05 700 efi and every time I park it for a couple of days, I have a puddle of coolant under my machine. I started checking around and found that it is either leaking from the waterpump seal or from around the hose that is attached to the waterpump. The weird thing is that it never leaks when I ride it. When I first noticed this problem it scared me a little so I kept a close watch on the coolant level and it never changed. I was wondering if this is a common problem or if this is a first to the forum? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i noticed a little coolant on the ground but it was because the overflow take was full. sucked a little out, no big deal.

leaky coolant covers on the 700s were addressed back in late '02. i find it difficult to believe that your cover is the reason. maybe a lose hose?

let us know.

bring it to the dealer. it's still under warranty isn't it? a simple pressure test will reveal the answer!

The Predator 500's have 3 "weep holes" that sometimes weep a bit after riding. I never notice it while riding....only when I wash it and park it for a while. My dealer tells me this is normal. It is a very small amount of coolant....I only have to add a little bit every six months or so.
Do the 700s also have weep holes?

Default Coolant leak?

Well, I when I first tried to ride my new machine, Christmas morning, there was a very noticable leak around the hose to the waterpump. I tightened the hose clamp and the problem was fixed for about two weeks. Two weeks after Christmas, I noticed a small puddle underneath the machine but coolant levels were fine. I tightened the clamp again and rode for the next two weeks keeping a close eye on the coolant levels and they never changed. I went out of town recently so I didn't get a chance to ride for a couple of weeks and when I came back the overflow tank was empty and there was a huge puddle underneath my machine.

My machine is still under warranty so I guess that will be the solution. My dealer said the warranty work will take at least a week. They said they would have to order the parts from polaris and they said it would take at least a week. They also said I could speed things up by having the part sent priority ,at my cost. Does this sound right or should I check out another dealer?

Thanks for the help!!

I think if it was a good dealer they would pay the priority shipping. But if its anything like the dealer I bought mine from they wouldn't care if it took a month. Oh yea what parts does he have to order?

Check out another dealer, a good dealer would get it asap for you so you can hit the trails by the weekend. oh and I also had a small coolant puddle under my 700EFI and it ended up being a loose water pump hose clamp, I tightened it up and it's fine. never hurts to take it to the dealer under warranty so that it's all on record ya know.

Not sure about what parts they might have to order. I just called the dealer to see what I should do. They said to bring it in and they would check everything out. He said they might have to order a new hose or maybe a new waterpump seal.

I dont know what they did bu they did fix it.

I called and asked and said IT SHOULD NOT LEAK ANYTHING!!!!

SO i was under warenty the last day of it to be exact and they fixed it no charge. It have been 1 day later there would have been no warrenty
