Ok ... i know ... i know rumors are bad ... but i can't help my self I LOVE POLARIS!
Lastest rumors is just heard today.
Production of Sportsman 600 was stopped last week for good. - no more 600's
Polaris is looking into an 800 EFI ranger ... but they are watching the sales of the new 700 EFI ranger before going ahead with the 800 EFI. May be 2 years out.
Polaris is testing an 900 EFI for ATV's (could be the replacement for the 700EFI??)
Polaris is testing/looking at an 800 EFI Scrambler (my understanding is it's not going well ... too heavy and not very sporty)

I was told that Polaris is testing the first protoype Sportsman 2500 EFI. It will seat six, have rear wheel power steering, A/C, and a moon roof. And the best part, it will have a dry weight of 540 lbs. (sorry, I couldn't resist.)
I hope all those things you say are true. I love my 700 efi and I'm sure I'll be buying Polaris again. Keep riding.

Since this is a rumor post, this is what my dealer told me Yesterday. They wern't shipping the 600s but he could still order one, And they where working on a 600 Srammy. Yes Thats what he told me.
IMO if there gonna put a twin in a scrammy it better be the 700 more power very little more weight.

ok since we are on the rumors/what if/ iwannasee lists.........if they are going to put a twin in a scrammy i would really like to see a v-twin, perhaps from a victory motorcycle..... the kfx 700 4x4 would really give the scrambler 4x4 concept a run fer the money. i would rather see polaris beat them to the punch.
v-twins somehow sound better than the parallell twins.......

If they are going to discontinue the sp600, which I'm sure they will. I'm curious as to why they were so discounted in price at the end of 2004. They must have made too many to start with. They were selling for as low as 4,899 for a new one. It looks like if someone wants to buy a 2005 sp600, they should just wait until fall 2005 to pick one up when the dealers will be looking to ditch them.

Why go to a 900 (860) cc sportsman??? Why not just tap into the power potential that is already there? Like I posted earlier, if you look at the specs for the 750 watercraft engines they make 110 and 150hp with a different cylinder head, intake, and a turbo!!! Wouldn't it be more fun to have a lot more power instead of a little more displacement??? does anyone know the hp specs for the frontier sled engine???

two stroke can happen this is where the weight is comeing down. It is call direct injection. They inject the oil/gas right on top of the piston to control the mix. It burn cleaner then the 4 stroke carb models and get better gas milage they say. They use this injection on boat motors. The two stroke carb engine are gone do to Calif smog 2004 and EPA 2006 code.
