HPD is your best bet on this one.........they are strong, and a nice quality part, and the cheapest too!!!

I straighted the steering post and re-installed it, my question because i cant remember should the steering post have any play in it??? it has a rubber bushing with a clamp(half moon style with two bolts to mount it to the bracket. the post is straight but i have very slight movement from front to back?? anyone with any thoughts??

there is a bushing that goes in there..........might need a new one.......it not, then you probably don't have it strait, or you have wallered out that clamp.

There shouldn't be much play......I don't know how to explain it......mine has a little(very minimal).......like maybe moving 1/32 or 1/16 of an inch..........I'd say that is ok, but not any more. Did you see if your bushing(I think they are plastic) is ok??

I did the same thing to my 05 pred. You need to make sure that the large metal gusset is not bent. Where the upper steering stem bolts on bends very easily. When I replaced my steering stem with the HPD I had to straighten it out and weld in some supports. Hope this helps.
