You really cant go wrong with any Garmin GPS.
If you can get the Etrex Legend Color for $150,I say buy it. Thats one thing about these handhelds...price doesnt drop much after time. The Legend I bought for $130 Is still $150 to $170 in some places and I bought mine over 3 yrs ago.
I just use mine to track the speed, distance and map where ive been. It helped out a great deal a few years back when we we out riding in the pouring rain at night. It was picth black and we got a little lost. I wasnt leading before we got lost but I sure did the leading to find our way back to the trucks. Just followed the tracks map feature on the GPS and backtracked to the trucks.
I use mine for geocaching too. Treasure hunting is fun!!!

I agree with Elimin8r - can't go wrong with any Garmin. Go to their site and compare the products to see what features you want. More features mean more $$$ and in some cases a bigger GPS. Etrex have a good reputation and are a nice unit. For me, I wanted the features in the 76Csx. It's a nice unit - but costs twice as much as the Etrex.

We're on our 3 edition of the Garmin Legend/Vista series, the Vista Cx. We've had great service out of them and appreciate the updated connection capabilities of the later units. As for mounting we have modified a GPS mount so as to be affixed to the handlebars, but since then we have started seeing handlebar mounts for cell phones that would probably work just as well.
Enjoy your GPS, I'm sure it will add to your enjoyment as it has done to mine.

A Garmin GPS and a RAM Mount made just for it are a great combination. http://www.ram-mount.com/ramgps.htm
