Default 800 and 700 efi air filter update

I have a 2005 800 EFI and I am looking at getting a better air filter for it. I know K&N and UNI makes better filters for my machine. Any opions on K&N -vs- UNI? Pro's and Con's?

Has anyone put either of these on an 800 efi and if so, how well does it work?

Any insight would be great.

Thanks

i got a K&N on my 800, works great, noticeable power increase, and more top speed, only problem with K&N's are that you have to keep them oiled, there made out of surgical cotten, so they cant get wet, thats why you buy the prefilter though...

I had the Uni in mine for awhile and then took it out and put the K&N in. The Uni is just too much work to clean. I picked up 3 K&N filters for a good price. So when one comes out, I put another in. Then when I get a chance, I clean the one I took out, reoil, put back in the box and wait for next time. If I plan on going riding and I pull the filter and it is dirty, I just slap the cleaned/oiled one in there and go, no waiting for it to dry before oiling....
