HEY I GOT A 700 SPORTSMAN
MY MODS ARE--
K & N FILTER WITH OUTER WEAR
DYNO JET KIT
BIG GUN EXHAUST
26' GOODYEAR RAWHIDE TIRES
RHINO PERFORMANCE BELT

MY QUESTION IS WHAT TYPE OF TIRES AND WHEELS WOULD BE LIGHTER ON MY QUAD FOR MORE POWER AND ALSO WHAT OTHER MODS ARE THERE OUT THERE AND DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SNORKEL KIT FOR THE SPORTSMAN YET

I went with the ITP MUDLITES ON ITP TYPE 6 WHEELS they are a real light combination. Look at all my mods down below and that will give you an idea of some of the mods. I've not got a snorkle kit but woundn't mind having one.

 

what exactly is the reverse override do ? and what is the hot cam and header for

I like the Custom nerf Bars, what does a set of those run???? What are the dimesnions?? I be interested in making a set myself, My brother has a machine shop with all of the goodies. I am heading down there at the end of April, that would be a little project He and I could fab up over the weekend....

you can use the 800 snorkel and pipe w/dual manifold.
see this thread 800 mods thread and the "sportsman airbox mod" thread (do a search).

 

I went with the 27" ITP Mudlites on ITP type 6 wheels. lightest combo available I think. go to www.polarisoemparts.com and order the 800 airduct snorkle and exhaust headpipe for more power. what about installing a Heelclicker clutch kit?

 

700polaris, the reverse override mod is so that you don't have to push in the yellow override button to have full power in reverse also it keeps you from pushing it while in AWD in reverse. When I pull mine in reverse it automaticly flashes the word slow in the speedo. The Hot cam is just a bigger lobed cam that gives you alot of tourqe. The header is from an 800 and lets me flow more air and it will give you really good gains especially in low end power.



ZMan079, the nerf bars are 20 1/2" long and the stick out 4 1/2" in the back and 1 1/2 in the front. I welded some flat steel around an 1 1/2" wide to the round tube and bolted them to the bottom of the floorboard.

700polaris, I got mine from Ebay I have direction but its for an 02 & 03 not for sure it would work on the 04's. Let me know if you still want the directions and I can send them to you. I live in Tellico Plains let me know if you every come back we can go riding up at the line.
