Default New 700 owner!

Me and my buddies just bought quads. I bought a 2004 Polaris 700 twin, it has a warn winch, aftermarket wheels with bigger mud tires, Paul bought a 2004 sportsman 600 twin, and frank bought a 2005 Honda Rincon 650. We went out this past weekend to some trails and had a blast. These things are tough!

My question is, the honda is much easier to steer, why?

I noticed with the bigger tires my 700 throws mud all over me. Its fun at first, but is there a fender flare to deflect some of this mud so it doesnt end up down my back?

Any things to know about these sportsman's? I am new to the atv thing.

Welcome, and congrats on the Polaris. The Sportsmans are some of the easiest steering machines. What tires are on your machine? What tire pressure are you running? Did you have it locked in AWD? The main reason it may steer harder than the Honda is because the AWD may be engaged. It is rarely needed, so don't use it unless you need it. Check and see if all wheels are spinning.

As far as mud, well thats going to happen, unless you have the 2005 machine which has wider fenders. You can get fender flares.

As far as things to know, just search the forums.

Didnt think about the awd being locked. Could be the problem.

Where do I get the fender flares from?

welcome
Polaris sells extensions and a splash guard that goes on the floorboard between front and rear flares.
