New ATV owner
Hello everyone,
-I recently bought a 98 Scrambler 500 for my wife (she loves the purple color), but was wondering if anyone can help with a few questions:
Does anyone know where you can get the 1998 Scrambler Decals?
-How easy is it to do a wheelie (without trying) on a 1998 Scrambler 500?
-I am getting ready to purchase a 2003-04 Scrambler, anyone know the best place to buy one? I live in Afton, Wyoming but will be happy to travel to get the right one/right price.
-Anyone know of the best speedometer/odometer gauge to install on a Scrambler or ATV?
And the most important question: What shoudl I look for/be prepared for from this 98 Scrammy?

congratulations on you new purchase!!!
you and your wife are gonna love the scramblers..!!
-first off, the most important thing you can buy would be a repair manual. this will tell you(if you dont know) how to do routine maintenance on your scramblers. keeping them clean, lubed and regularly maintained will make your scramblers last for years of enjoyment.
- you can find stock decals at partsland.com
- it should do a wheelie with out too much trouble,, especially of its gota clutch kit installed.
-trail tech makes a great affordable digital speedo/odo for the scrambler (around 75 bucks.)
-as far as what to look for on the 98.. is it a 4x4? if so, definitely check and/or change the front hub fluids.
that pretty much goes for all of the fluids. closely inspect the front cv joint boots, look for rips, cracks....
-tune it up(new plug, belt, oils, filters and lubes.) grease all grease zerks.
-check the swingarm sideplay, this will indicate condition of the swingarm bushings.
there are many other things to do, but this will get you started! hope this helps!
