sp70003, if you're too rich it can cause some what of a bog, kinda like if it was too lean. try turnig the adjustment screw for idle mix in some and see if it helps. if you have to run it in almost all the way to make it better, you prolly need to rejet.

Plugs are black at idle and you can smell it flooding.

Yes, it also may be bog because the plug is to wet. You could also try a hotter plug.

I think I'm going to adjust the fuel screw its 2 turns out maybe I'll try 1.5 turns out. I also might get a hotter plug.

If it's rich, you'll want to turn the screw IN.

IN = leaner
OUT = richer

If it runs better turning the screw OUT, then that means that you were too lean.

My bad--I should have looked closer at your post!

All I saw was "turn out", but you were talking about From the fully seated position. now I get it.

Keep trying different settings, going 1/2 turn at a time. Experiment with different settings and you'll eventually have it running mint.

I wish I had a tool that would let me adjust the screw with the carb on. I have the 40mm carb of an HO and its bigger than the stock carb and its hard to get in there.
