Heck, sounds like you just might as well get the sensor. If the dealership will charge you labor just to see what is wrong, it likely won't cost any more, and just might fix it. At least find out what the sensor costs. Can't be too bad, can it?

OK, finally getting somewhere on this. Thanks for all the replies. Going to take my quad into ANOTHER dealership. My purchasing dealership, claimed to know nothing about the defective sensors. The sensor is $44 so that's more than I'm willing to eat and fix it myself. Get this.... the dealer that I am taking my quad to, has the sensors in stock and let it slip that he has replaced "lot's of 'em...".

You guys keep talking about the oil temp sensor. I
am not sure aboout this, but I thought that the sensor was a coolant sensor located on the bottom side of the radiater?

This machine is not liquid cooled, it just has an oil cooler with a fan behind it. No radiator, no anti-freeze.

Buckeye...we must have the same taste Could it be a problem that my 335's fan has never kicked on?? I've ridden some pretty hard miles and I'm quite sure it hasn't come on. Never any probs, just wondering.

I doubt you have a problem. My fan had never kicked on before I ran it in some deep water and probably shorted out the resistor for the oil temp.
Isn't it nice riding both, the Hummer ride and mud crossing capabilities of the SP335 and ripping around with the Corvette-on-steroids performance of the 400EX?
LOL
I love the 4-wheel drive, especially when I am pushing round hay bails around a field. (You could climb up on top, but wouldn't enjoy getting off of one, try it it's fun) But, I couldn't live without being able to roost when I want to. There's also something enjoyable about riding a wheelie as long as the trail is strait.

PROBLEM SOLVED!! I picked up the SP335 from the dealer last night. I also learned that some of the ones that were replaced were because they would NOT kick on the fan. So if your quad is out of warranty and the fan has NEVER kicked on. Maybe you should spend the $44 and replace the sensor. My stock sensor was brass colored and had two wires coming from it. The one they replaced it with is silver and has two wires but they are wrapped. Sounds like a pretty wide spread problem for Polaris.
