Default Motor problems....?

troyer, been reading your post and replies. but what have you found that is leaking? the balance shaft is inside the case, and unles you have a seal or the case leaking, the balance shaft has nothing to leak. the inner bearing is fun to get out. can usually heat the case alittle and it'll come out, but its hard to get to in the bike.

The leaking was from me overfilling the counterbalace fluid.

How do you pull that inner bearing?

ohh, ok. like ced replied try a pilot puller. is the inner bearing bad? if its not i wouldn't mess with it. also, check your gears for any nicks on the teeth this will cause them to have a knock to. of course then the ? is what caused that.

I dont know if either bearing is bad. I saw that is was leaking after I rode it. I started it up in the shop to see if i could see where it was leaking, thats when i thought about just filling the balancer and that i had probably overfilled it. But as it was idling i heard a knocking sound coming fromt he front, no loud, but a knocking none the less. I didnt notice it while riding, this was the first I had heard it. I talked to some people and figured it could be the counterbalance, as I have never messed with the one on this motor, and I dont know if anyone has, as I got it used. When i pulled it out, the bearings seem ok, i dont know for sure, but they seem fine. Should I put in new ones to be safe? or just run it?

well if you're not a 100% sure and you have it apart, i would go ahead and replace them to make sure. would be the safe thing to do.

How do I get the big bearing off the balancer? Where do I get the bearings once I have the old ones out?

I talked to Rick, after checking my bearing, I think they are ok. He said if they seem tight, put it back together and run it.

He said sometimes the Wiseco pistons make a knocking sound at idle and lows RPMs. Maybe thats all I was hearing.
