Does anybody think the atv industry is going to level off soon?

what can you buy for $5300- $6300 in a Polaris utility? a Magnum330, Sportsman400 with no EBS, and what else?
compare that to the price structure of the Honda utility. there is A LOT to pick from in that price range in a Honda.
Polaris Utility ATV prices have gone WAY out of wack in the last few years. the Honda dealer in my area is really cashing-in on it to! Polaris scares them off with a $500 discount off list, then Honda signs them up!
i think the only thing needing leveling (and lowering to be competitive) is Polaris pricing.

Remind me not to shop were you live. i was thinking of getting a new Sportsman 500 in the fall of 2004, they were selling new 04 Sportsman 500HO out the door for $5900 with a winch and a plow. I looked at the 04 Foreman Rubicon (which to me is not a comparable machine) and it was $7200 out the door with a winch and plow. I have a foreman and a sportsman, and dont get me wrong the Honda is a great machine, but I wouldnt pay more for it than a SP500HO!

ATV or ORV, call it what you want. If they build it, people will buy it, regardless of any additional govt. regulations imposed because of some arbitrary motor size limit. Personally, I feel like my 700 has all the power and features I could ever want or need, but I also remember thinking the same thing when I had my first 500. Sorry to state the obvious, but the the ATV market it simply driven like every other market. Supply and demand. As long as the manufacturers believe they can make a profit by producing bigger better machines, then they will. Now I sure don't claim to know what additional restrictions come with a vehicle that is designated ORV as opposed to ATV, but I doubt the powersports enthusiast crowd would find them prohibitive. Even if increased motor size did prove to be legally or financially unfeasable, then I agree with modquad that the natural progression would then be the advancement of the technology of the other features of the bikes, such as fuel delivery, suspension, and most importantly durability. Either way, it's kinda cool that the companies that sell us the toys we love are constantly working to improve our sport. Now that said, here's what I want: 2-up Sportsman, with instant, smooth, unlimited, quiet power, 50 mpg, and guaranteed never to break. Whaddaya think?

i got the april issue of dirt wheels last week and they are trying to get yamaha to build a 1200cc 8 wheel drive wave runner. they call it the mud runner. it looks like a wave runner with 8 wheels on it and can go on land or water. they said yamaha laughed at them when the handed them the plans but dont be surprised to see it come out in april of 2006.
