I have an 03 Sportsman 500 HO...Here are the symptoms. When the unit is in TWO wheel drive at speed my right front wheel will go into drive mode. When I activate four wheel drive I get both front wheels to engage yet the right front will not disengage when I deactivate..it won't come out of driving until I go into reverse. I've had the unit apart several times. I had to sand the roller cage openings a bit wider due to the roller pins not being able to slide ALL the way thru the cage. They were hanging up towards the outer edge of the roller cage. When I ran emery cloth between them for a bit I was able to widen the openings and free them up as I think they should be. My left front wheel runs great, does everything correct. I checked the fluid level and its good. I'm thinking that I need a new roller cage spring. All opinions are welcome. Thanks.
