Where to get at the main jet.

Default Where to get at the main jet.

I am new to carbs. I know where the needle jet is but how do i get to the main jet. I see on the side of my carb there is a black cover with 4 screws on there. Is it in there? Or where how do i get acsess to the main jet. Thanks

On the bottom of your carb you will see a plug and I think it is 11/16 in size unscrew it and there is your main jet.

Also I see you have a dial a jet how do you like it? Mine should be here in a day or two.

I acually havent put it on yet. I have been waiting for some warmer weather to put it on.

SPORTSMAN70003 what size main jet are you runing on yours. With the dial a jet you are supost to run two sizes smaller and i was just wondering what size i should run. Thanks

Well with my stock 34mm carb the main jet was a 155 but I have a different carb a 40mm and I have a 180 in it now and it might still be a little lean on top end. I'll have to get the jetting pretty close so I can go down two sizes for the dial a jet to work. You probably have a 155 or 152.5 but I would pull it out and see. You can loosen the clamps up on the carb and turn it sideways and take the plug out to get to the main jet without take the carb off.

If you look a # 21 it's on the bottom of it the float bowl I'm not for sure why its not got a pic of it.

Look here and see the bottom of this carb it looks like a bolt head on the bottom of the float bowl. By the way this is not the same carb you have it's the only one I could find to show you the plug on the bottom.
