Default 800 upgrades

ok, so I have 500 bucks I want to spend on my 800. I want to make it sporty, and very able

I dont want any thing that will weight it down further then i already have with this winch, and im not takeing the winch off. i want to leave the racks on, and i already have a K&N air filter

so, my question to you guys is, help me find a way to spend my money to make this quad better!

im thinking about getting the Dyno-Jet PowerCommander already, and i would like to get new tires and rims, but im afraid those are out of my budget. I was also thinking about getting the PurePolaris/White Bros. exhaust and putting it on there as the duals are fake enough.

does anyone know how much louder that muffler is over the stock?

im considering a custom airbox lid, cutting out a section on the top of it, getting a prefilter, un-ravvleing it, and using it as a pre-filter on the lid to keep dirt and moisture out of the airbox, but allow for better flow.

get back to me guys please

Sorry about not helping you earlier. Did you decide on the blue primary spring like you mentioned in another post? GE4x4 has it on his 800 so he would be the person to talk to about it. I am not very familiar with that Dyno-Jet power commander. How much does it cost and do they give an approximation of the power gain with it? Elkbow is the man to talk to about the pure polaris pipe since he did have it on his 700 at one point. I think he said it made his 700 a little louder. That power commander and the blue primary spring would probably be the ticket you're looking for.

Sorry Spyder...
I'm still learning about differant mods and things...much less about the 800...

But I'll help you out when you post on a topic I know about ....hehe...

I don't understand why Polaris didn't make it a true Dual Exhaust....I'm sure it would have helped...

Spyder, I was wondering the same thing - As you know, I just picked mine up last week.... At this point, my observation is this - This quad is very heavy but handles well for it's size- it holeshots (and wheelies) good and has descent acceleration up to about 45 - after that, it will gradually increase speed up to 65mph from what I've experienced so far.... I'm thinking there is alot more to be had in the clutching alone - and maybe some kind of airbox mod to let it breathe better.... Have you tried any of these mods yet ?.... This quad is by far the smoothest and most comfortable I've ever rode ... I think it's still a little early in the game yet for exhaust mods and "hi performance" on this one - Maybe by mid spring - summer, there may be some packages and real world set ups that actually work.... I going give it a couple of months before I do any mods on mine
