Haven't had to change one on Scramber, so I'm not sure how hard it is to get to. Just buy the plugs from your local auto parts store.

My dealer told me that you have to remove all the body panels and remove the gas tank, its under there. Which sounds like a ton of work, but we did all that to my g/f's Trailboss and it really takes about 10 minutes. No biggie.

Yes, you have to remove the front plastic, and gas tank. sounds like alot and will take some time the first time you do it, but the second time takes about 15 min, and then about 10 min after you have done it a few times!

2 tork screws on left by tank, right side has same 2 plus 2 more for muffler shield.

3 on each side to remove the mud flaps from the foot board

pop the hood out and there is 2 inside that are 7/16 i think

the nose has 2 rivets that are just slid together, than you need to remove dash(key, choke, indicator lights) this usualy just pops out.

that will alow you to remove the whole front plastic.

The gas tank is held on by 2 bolts near the airbox!

Watch the gas shutoff as it is attached to the gas tank by spring preasure.

shut off gas and remove hose, and that is it, you should see the red plug wire right on top!

You guys can't reach up under there and change it without taking stuff off? Maybe with my different front it helps.

I can change mine in a minute or so, just have to be careful if its warmed up, the exhaust gets pretty hot.

I have a 99 model 500 sportsman, all i did was take the side panel off the shift side. The gas tank is shaped so that you can get in there without taking anything else off.I did it this way with no problems.

I have a scrambler 400 and you can get to the plug by reaching up under the gas tank. Just feel around until you find it and pull the cap off and put a wrench on it.

The 500 scrammy must be different, because i can barely get my hand in there to where the spark plug is, much less a wrench. The plug is recessed into the cylinder head, making it even harder to get to - im not sure if the 400s plug is like this.
