Hey 2many, what is and where do I get the red secondary spring you installed??? Also, keepo in mind, you do have larger tires installed... which will greatly affect rpms and acceleration. Is the gearing stock? Did you confirm the speed with a gps or read it off of the
speedo? I'm very curious about all of this because I am hoping to help our tb330 out a little before summer. How would these mods affect the slow speed rock crawling abilitys??? I think with ours I may change the sprockets to make it a little tamer when crawling over
rocks and etc., as it is now, its pretty jerky when the clutch grabs, and is a little annoying for my wife. What it needs is a low range, but
that's more than I wanna spend.

The red secondary was from my 2000 250 trailblazer. You can get it at any polaris dealer. My gearing is stock. I wanted a spring that would give me the same engagement but higher rpm's on the top. It would take off ok but then flatten out very quick. Now it takes off good but then pulls alot harder from mid to top. I also do alot of rock crawling and the stock engagement was fine for me. You can get a lower than stock engagement spring. You should have spent the extra 6-700 on the 330 magnum. It has low range. I should have bought it also before I got mine. I think the low range, shaft drive, bigger tires, and composite racks would have been worth the extra money. Oh well though. I like the Trailboss for what it is. It performs like a whole new atv now with the spring change. I did conferm the speed with a gps and rpm's with a mini tach that I have from work. I did not expect this much of a difference. I am very pleased with it.

ftwflh, This is what my brother is reporting regarding his new 2000 Scrambler 2X4 primary spring in his stock 04 Trail Boss.
"The quad is much more fun now. It runs in a higher rpm range which is more in the horsepower range and less in the torque range. It spins the tires for a long distance now as opposed to stock. It uses a ton more gas too. For what we do in the sand dunes in loose soil it'll be better. But in tight, slow conditions with good traction it's no good. It doesn't like to go slow without heavy throttle use. Overall I'm pleased with it unless I rode tight trails."
What are your thoughts ftwflh?
