1997 sportsman 400. I have been planing a three day trip with my friends to Uwharrie National Forest for three months. We will leave Friday morning April 1. Today I found that my water pump was leaking at the weep hole. Will a stop leak like bars help. If I can get the parts in time I will repair the pump, from a parts diagram it looks like it will need 2 seals a bearing and a gasket. is this right? Will I need any special tools. Please help. I don't know about 97 but on newer ones like 02 there is a mechanical seal and have to be careful about bending shaft which requires major disassembly. When mine went took to dealer that afternoon and 70$ later was good to go. May try searching back a bit know has been kind of ongoing prob with them. Good luck.
