So which one is better, stronger, nicer? are they both welded about the same structure wise etc.

 

I don't have a polaris one, but they look to be about the same at the dealer. They mount exactly the same, and have the same design other than the two differences I mentioned. I can't speak for the polaris one, so I can't say much else. All I can tell you is that the Viper model seems adequate for an atv brushguard, not suprisingly sturdy, but what you would expect.

I think a tube bumper would offer better collision protection, but the brushguard provides better protection from objects. And it looks cooler [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img].

 

Is there actually a small bar located in the middle below the third bottom bar on the OEM bumper? It likes like there is one in this picture. Or just my imagination?:-)

Yeah, when you get the larger image, the polaris one has a U-shaped radiator guard that is welded to the bottom bar. I didn't notice that. Definetly a selling point for OEM.

Sweet, good choice on the winch size there. I need to get a ****** block, my 3000# can't pull me out of the snow now that it's wet and heavy.

 

Yeah..****** blocks are key. On trucks we use 2 blocks at times. A lot less load on the winch when using them as well.

 

Right. That heavy pulling kills the battery fast, plus the cable takes a beating. Also, I think my brushguard shifted about half an inch to the left from a really sharp angle pull I did the other day, like 90 degrees directly to the left, because my fairlead is on the guard. It's nice having it there, because it is the farthest forward point, and if it hits something, the brushguard takes the impact and not the winch or the winch mount.
