Oh good, finally someone else noticed it, I thought it was just me .

I think chuck had it right in that it is easier and smoother to say 2x4. And advertising is everything, maybe that order is found more appealing to uneducated buyers (ie sounds cooler, because 2x4 is not as much a feature as a description, its the lack of awd.)
I mean that sentence nicely, not trying to put down 2wd.

You're right and I agree that it really doesnt matter. It's just one of those symantics things that get in your brain from time to time.

Chuck1, I agree with you. I've taken the stupid 2X4 stickers off my quad. I got tired of people commenting about it as a piece of wood. With the 2X4 stickers on it, people DID comment.
LOL, that's hilarious. I dont think either of our Polaris' have those stickers (one is 4wd and the other is an express), but now that you've pointed that out to me I'll be looking around for it.

I think there are other companies that call it the same way, so its not like its only Polaris.

I have a better question!! Why does polaris use 3 different yellows for the same set? I ordered my riding pants and jersy with helmet to go with the 2004 scrambler and they all have different yellows! They don't match each other, and then I checked them with the yellow on the scrammy and they are even different than that one!! I thought they might have messed up on the order so I checked with the dealer and it was right! lol

WHY?

The hand guards for the scrammy don't match either, that is why I took them back and got the black ones.

While we're on the subject, what is with the metric bolts on a made in USA product? I've stripped more bolts and allen bolts trying to find the right socket or wrench!

You will start seeing a lot more US products using metric. The standards are changing and the industries are finding that using metric is easier than people learning fractions. Kind of stupid in my book, but the times are changing.

The worst one was the 7mm allen drain plug on the front gearcase. I couldn't find one for my life. So anyway, i think that it is 5/16" now (after an allen wrench and a hammer ).

Just my opinion here but, I think it was a 5 o'clock on Friday idea. "Quick Barney, we need a dang decal here". "Umm... 2x4"?? "Sounds good".

actually a 4x4 truck is actually 2x2. each axle having a differential with only one wheel per axle driving. unless you have locker rearend then you can have a 3x4. glad i got that stuff all straight.
