I'm not sure what you need to do in Texas but when I wanted to make mine street legal in South Dakota I just contacted the state DOT and asked them what the requirements were that I had to meet. After I met the requirements, I went down to Motor Vehicle Registration and filled out a form confirming I met the requirements and paid the licensing fee. In SD you need to have a mirror, horn, light for license plate, brake and tail light, over 200 cc's, brakes for all wheels and insurance. I've seen a ton of cops when I've been driving around and not one has looked twice at me. Your best bet is to contact the state DOT. Good luck in getting it street legal. It's a blast!

I am going through the same thing here in Germany. I am still trying to figure out how I want to install my blinkers and horn, does anyone know of a kit you can buy? It cost $2,000 to have the dealer over here do it.

I haven't put blinkers on mine because it's not required but I've been thinking about putting some on, I just haven't found any blinkers that would work yet. As far as the horn goes, thanks to some great advice from this forum, it was pretty easy. I found a horn button that would mount on my handlebars, bought a roll of wire, an inline fuse, and a 12v car horn. I ran one wire from the switch to the power (with the inline fuse in the middle) and ran the second wire from the switch to the horn and ran the ground wire from the horn to the frame. It works really well.

I did need to have at least one side mirror. I bought this mirror from Cabela's. It works really well. You can see a picture of it in my gallery. I have it turned up instead of sticking straight out in the picture.

Well just to let you know I went to the DOT here in Decatur Texas and enquired for the same thing. They told me it was not possible. The tires, lights, exhaust and brakes would have to be changed to have the DOT stamps and approval on them.
