700 Sp compared to 400 Explorer
I can answer that. I have a 2004 700EFI and my father in law has a 1994 Explorer 4x4 and the difference is amazing. mine has cv axles and his is chain driven, that's one big difference other that the obvious one cylinder missing on the 400 model. the 700 has so much more power, speed, torque and performance than my father in laws 400 that he got off his atv one day and then rode my 700EFI and said "wow-what a huge difference" then he said "but I don't know if it's worth the price you paid". he is old school and grew up and has lived his life as a penny pincher, I was surprised to see him buy an atv but he picked it up for $1500 and came with a 48" warn plow with electric lift and brand new front and rear brake pads. the only thing I had to do to it for him was install the front and rear brakes and adjust/lube all three drive chains. the tires are pretty worn but I can't see darrell forking over the cash to replace them anytime soon.

I know the ride is better and it WILL out perform a stock 400.What I want to know is how about a modded 400.The 700 should beat it on top but I dont know about all around power.I thonk the 400 2stroke when set up right is awsome. As for the $$$$$$s I too cant see the price but I wont EVER buy another new quad. And for the IRS that is the reason I ride a Scrambler there is too many parts to wear out and the tranny is a bear to get out.I do my own work wont take one in to a shop to get screwed over.
