I was wondering what kind of money you guys with the extended warranties have been dishing up. How long of an extension and how much you paid, and what exactly is covered under the extended warranty.

Just throwing arround the idea of getting one for my new HO, but if the coverage is bad than I won't bother. Thanks!

I also wanted to make a comment about this forum. I've only been reading these for the past three to four weeks, and I've got to say this is a AWSOME resorce for anyone into the sport of ATVing. There are alot of great people in hear and you don't get all the stupid arguments that you see wreck so many other forums. Great site everyone!!

i was looking into extended warranties for my quad also..i found a couple of things.
1.thru my dealer i can get an extended warranty for 4 years for 595.00,5 years for 695.00 it basically covers what would be covered under your manufacturer 6 mos warranty..doesnt cover brake pads, clutch, tires, and definitley wont cover anything you do to it like hitting trees etc..
2.i found warrantydirect.com ,they are the same as to what they will cover basically, there price was 499.00 for 4 years and they happen to be accepted at my local dealer..im still diciding what im going to do,and alot of it will depend on how the quad holds up till january as thats when ill have to decide to buy it or not..some people say there a waste of money others say there great..good luck in what you decide

If you own a 4x4 quad and plan on keeping it at least 3 yrs, than you better get the extended warrenty, that is,unless you only drive it to church on Sundays.I had it on my 99 Sportsman and thank goodness I did.It did pay for it self.

I now have it also on my 00 400cc Xplorer. It cost me 445 dollars for three yrs.And covers what the manufactures warrenty does.

Remember one thing,
Your extended warrenty is only as good as your dealership that repairs your quad.If you get a dealership that sides with the company when problems arise,it will wind up costing you.

My brother was clowning around on my Sportsman one day and broke off the sensor lead to the front AWD.It was clearly HIS fault.I took it in to the dealership and they still got it covered for me under the extended Warrenty. My point? The mechanic could of been a real as- about it and made me pay for repairs, however,he wants to keep me for a customer, therefore, the extended warrenty covered it.I recommend it as long as you have a good dealer that is willing to stand behind YOU.
Good Luck,
Bill

Hi all,
When i bought my scrambler 3 weeks ago saturday my selling dealer said that he would not sell the extended warranty. I said why is that? He said that he only pays 120.00 for the 3 year extended warranty and he said that it dosent really cover things that really go wrong on the bike, But i may still get the warranty for my other dealer.
