Mudrunning Tips

I heard about a mudhole that no one has made it through and I'm thinking about tring it. My Sp500 has the stock Goodyear P tires on it. I've got a winch and I'll be going with a Grizzly 600, so he can pull be out if I get stuck. I was wondering if there are any tips on mudrunin. From what I've read, the best method is to put your weight back and let the front end climb it's way up and out of mudholes. Oh yea, keep the throttle pinned in low range. (I figured that was a given) I'm just a little concernd about sucking in water or breaking something. Maybe I should let the Grizzly try it first and then go through after I pull him out. Then I'll know how deep it is.

Try and go first, that way he will get stuck easier in the ruts you make. Just look for the best line of attack! Keep the gas on and don't stop. I usually go by feel. I can feel when it is about to get stuck so I shift weight or even jump off to push a bit. Anyway you do it...it still will be a blast!

If you don`t know how deep it is watch out. Have you seen anyone try this hole before? How much water there is will determine whether you suck up something or not. Momentum is also a big factor.

Though I dont mud run as much as I used to,Im still very good at it.There are differant technics for differant situations that you'll encounter.
The biggest thing is to KEEP YOUR MOMENTUM GOING and keep shifting the handlebars from side to side.Dont let off the throttle to much either.If you feel you are loosing momentum,immediately stand on the floor boards and rock the quad side to side,fearouscly.[buy some good mud tires to]
If that dont do it,plant BOTH feet in the rear corners of the rear rack and shake your entire quad from side to side,allowing your feet to do alot of the work.This almost allways works.
If your encounter a muddy embankment that causes the front end to raise alot,put your right foot on your left floorboard and swing your entire body and weight over to the front rack and sit on it.This technic will allow the front end to come down as you Carefully hit the throttle.Guys shi- their pants when they see me do that one.Good Luck,

THESE GUYS HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA. KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING IF YOU SLOW ROCK THE BIKE SIDE TO SIDE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO GET OFF & PUSH IT OVER TO GET TRACTION. IF YOU ARENT SURE HOW DEEP WATER IS YOU SHOULD WALK IT FIRST.
