Default Correct Plug for SP500 - BKR5E or 6E

I have an 04 Sportsman 500HO. What is the correct spark plug for this thing. I've had two dealers tell me 2 different things. One says use: NGK BKR5E - the other says use the BKR6E - which I think is a hotter plug. Does it matter?

What do you guys out there use??? Also what gap???

Thanks!!

Mine takes the 6. Yes it does matter. Once you figure out which one you are going to use, ride it for a while then check the color.

How will be the machine run (different) if you use the 6 (hotter) plug vs the 5 (cooler) plug? Stupid owners manual shows two different plugs - in 2 different manual locations.

What gap ?? .035 ???

One of them is right. The other will may make the quad run bad. It could also do some engine damage. From my experience with the 6 running somewhat cold, I'd try the 6 first, then look at it and decide what you want to do next.
