Ok i bought a 42mm flatside carb. and i was goin to have the dealer put it on but he said he wouldnt because the throttle always got hung up on stuff so i called aaen and asked bout it then sent me a 90 degree cable looking thing. So me and i good friend decided that we can put it on so we tried and we got it on and then when we tired to start it gas was in the air box. and finally it started and it was smoking wight bad and when u put ur hand behind the exhaust it got soaked with gas. right now it has a 270 jet in it and i have a 260 and 260 which one should i try first. please help me.

 

Sounds like you don't have much of a choice of which one to try.

Go down one main jet size at a time. I am assuming you have a 4-stroke 500????? If the air filter got soaked with gas, you may want to put a new one in if it is of the paper type. A gas-soaked paper filter will not flow much air.
