Can anyone please tell me a good place to buy a brand new speedometer for my sportsman 700 ???
My dealer wants to charge mr way to much money.........probably because Im a female.
I would much rather give my businnes to dealers/retailers online if anyone knows of some honest and true atv lovers???
Any suggestions would be great!!!!!!
Also, someone suggested buying a used one.....but Im not sure if that is such a good idea.???

Check Ebay I bought one on there a few months back.

 

Consider buying an inexpensive GPS unit instead. The speed readings are more accurate, you can always find your way back, most have a compass display, and even maps if you buy a better one. I only say this because my stock speedometer keeps screwing up. It works fine for a while and then the sending unt on the wheel quits and I have to replace it. My third one finally quit so I'm done replacing those things. Unfortunately, if you also want the hour meter and odometer that the stock speedometer offers, you may indeed have only the option of the stock type.

 

I just got a gps for this reason, the speedo for a scrambler is over $200, so instead I bought an Etrex by garmin for less than $100, and killed 2 birds with one stone [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

when I went to buy a speedometer for my sportsman 500 they wanted like $250 just to walk out with just the speedometer, but the only reason why we were considering buying one was because the speedometer was like a brain unit and it controlled the 4 wheel drive and the lights so be careful if you plan to replace it with a GPS system

 

Right, no Speedo means no AWD. Those units are pretty expensive, eBay will probably be your best bet.
