Default Best way to mount?

Hey guys, my friend and I are about to make a front bumper for my quad. I think we are going to use inch 1/2 pipe. He has a pipe bender and is an awsome welder, so I think we can do a good job. Any suggestions on how to mount this thing once we get it built? I want it to be really sturdy, and not bend if i were to bump into something. I already have a winch mounted, so I might have to mount it in around the winch. Any advice on design or mounting would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any good pics, please post so I can see. Thanx.

IMO, i believe you would have to make 2 metal plates that would bolt where the winch mount bolts are, have them extend out in front of the winch on both sides and weld them to your tubing. if you can understand what i am saying, it is hard to describe just by typing, i think it would work

I think I know what you are saying. Is it hard to get the winch off( mine was on from the dealer). And once I get it off, will the same bolts work with the plates on? I just want to know what im gettin into b/f i start this little project. Polarisbear, I like your brush guard, but I think I want something a little heavier, maybe? Idk, I can use all advice here.

i wouldn't think yours is too hard to get off, i believe only 4 bolts, but some of the other guys with these winches from the dealers can tell you better. the existing bolts should work, as long as your new plates aren't too thick...my advice is to look at the website that have the bumper for your model and see what their mounting kits look like, that should give you an good idea on what you will need to do.
