Default Predator shifting

I have an 05 Troy Lee and was wondering if I can speed shift (no clutch) or will this wear out the tranny? Thanks

The 05 has the ratchet-style shifter, and they said it was made so you can speed shift. I don't do it, but my luck sucks.

anyone else? I did it this last weekend and it felt pretty darn smooth. I'd appreciate some other thoughts.

I was doing it on my TLD Predator last weekend. I tried not to get used to it though, because I was also worried about prematurely wearing out the tranny. It would be nice to know what the official word is.

It doesn't matter what style of transmission you have. You WILL wear out your transmission by speed shifting. The clutch is there for a reason. When running through the gears I have always left the throttle pegged, and stabbed the clutch long enough to catch the next gear and dumped it. This is plenty fast and shouldn't do damage to your transmission. Is a fraction of a second really worth several hundred dollar in parts and labor(at $75 an hour)? I don't think so.

I never speed shift my pred. Like bryan said the clutch is there for a reason. I learned the hard way what speed shifting can do thats why my stangs trans is in pieces on my garage floor

Best off using the clutch.
