Default Pics of my new hitch

I found the receiver in some scrape metal over at our garage and thought man that would make a great hitch.

Nice hitch. Looks factory. Nice thumb. Looks sore. Not enough blood just guts. At least it wasnt your throttle thumb.

Great job on that hitch! It looks almost factory! I like how you didn't overthink it, it looks very strong, yet could easily be removed if you wanted to. Kind of funny, 'cause I made a new hitch for my '05 sp700 this weekend too! I got a blank 2" reciever tube from "northern Tool and Equipment" for $10.00, instead of spending $65.00 for the hitch for the '05s off of Ebay. Then built it stronger than the one
they offer using scrap metal I already had. I did it much the same as you, by also attaching it to the upper control arm rear bolts. I
took some pictures of it, so I should have them up in a week or so. Great Job, I may have to make one like it for my brothers. We bought
a pair of ATV rear hitch carriers from Cabelas to carry buckets on for baiting bear. And my brother wants one to use for hauling his deer
out of the woods.

Thanks for all the compliments I'm trying to figure out how to make something like a rear hitch carrier. I want to make it where it will hold my 5 gallon jug of gas. I don't want it to cover up my tail light but I don't want to put it to one side because it weighs alot and might throw me off balance if it's to one side. Got any ideals?

i have an idea on how to make this, if you can follow me, kind of difficult to explain with just typing, but here it goes...
have one bar coming out of your hitch about 5 inches or so, then weld another bar horizontal to this that extends about 4 inches or so off each side of the bar that is coming from your hitch. then weld a bar going vertical on each side of the horizontal bar. then this gives you 2 bar that go as high as you need to and leaves a big enough space that your taillight can be seen. you will of course have to make a basket or something to sit your fuel in, but this gives you an even balance now and able to see the taillight.
if you still can't follow what i am trying to say, PM me and i will send you a picture on email. PB500

Instead of going off the hitch i made a frame out of 1/2 " copper tubing soldiered together and was going to secure them(i carry 2 2gal gas cans one on each side) to the rack extensions i have not finished them yet i still have to solder them and make bracets to hold them to the bars and paint them im going to use a tiedown strap cut to fit to secure the gas can in the basket

That's the other reason why I made my 2" receiver adaptor! We bought 2 ATV reciever hitch haulers from Cabela's. They extend back and then up about 12" so you have plenty of ground clearance. We plan on hauling our gas cans, coolers and tent in them for trail riding. And
we will each haul 4 5 gallon buckets full of bait for baiting bear. Then once deer season rolls around I plan on using mine to haul out the
Monster Buck i get this year I will try to get a picture of it when I get the hauler assembled.

Thanks for your the ideas and thanks to polarisbear500 for the nice sketch he made and sent to me. I now need to fire up the welder and get busy.
