Default 800 with a heelclicker

Put a heelclicker in my 800 today. It has a lot more out of the hole, but I lost about 5 mph on the top end. I am running 27" 589's. I had it on my 03 700, and I think it did more for that machine than it did for this one.

That would make sense that the heelclicker did more for your 700 than the 800. The 800 has better clutching from the factory than the 700 does. How would you compare your low end torque with the heavier tires and clutch kit compared to the stock tires and clutching?

Did you put you 700 cluthc kit in your 800? What did it turn for rpm's? Did you test this by seat of the pants or did you use a stalker to test your results?

I did not have a stock one to compare it to. I just went by how easy it was to pull a wheelie and top end. It helped as far as low end, with the bigger tires, but as a whole I am glad I had it already to try because I would have been disapointed if I would have spent the $ to get it with what little it did. I think I am going to take it back out, as what little I got on the low end I would like to get my top end back. When they become available, I am going to try the power commander. I might try and put the clutch kit back in when I get it.

Well, I took it out. Good call. It is better without it than it is with it. It is more responsive with the stock clutching. I think Polaris got it right this time.

800EFI,

What Weight setup are you using, and what spring did you put in??? I am guessing those are not stock tires. From what I read and understrand the Team Secondary they put in from the factory was supoosed to be sweet. Check over with the guys on the ATVQuadSquad under the Heel Clicker section. Those guys are full of knowledge and will help you diagnose your problem so that you get the most out of your clutch. Most likely you just need to do some tuning. Cajun, Cob abd a few others over there have posted some good info on tuning. If you didn't find what you were loooking for, just ask, they will be more than willing to help.

Hope this helps,

I spoke to Dan at heelclicker, and he told me the set up was the same as the 700. 1.2, 4.3,4.3 on the weights. Silver spring in the secondary and stock spring in the primary. I am running 27" 589's.

800EFI,

Everything I read says that if you are using oversize tires says you should be using the orange spring, and as far as the weight setup goes It would probably work welll with the orange Spring, but you could also try 3.3 in the tip, Just MHO...hope you get it tuned in. I'm running 1.2/4.3/3.3 with the stock spring and stock tires on mine and she gets up and goes real nice.....
