I have an '01 Xplorer. I'm considering replacing my stock tires. I'm staying as close to stock size as possible. Will I have any problems with a 25x12x10 rear tire? Stock is 25x11x10.

 

you shouldn't have any problem going with just a slight bit wider tire on the back. it's not the rear you have to worry about it's the front, if you go with to wide of a tire on the front it may rub on the tierod.

 

Thanks for the response. I'll be staying with stock size in the front - 25x8x12. I didn't think there would be problems with the rear but I wanted to make sure before I ordered that there wasn't some problem I may not be aware of.

What kinda tires are you going with?

 

I've been deciding between Dirt Devils and MudLites. I can get the Dirt Devils cheaper and I've heard a lot of good things about them. Unless someone persuades me to go with something else, I'm getting the Dirt Devils.

 

The dirt devils rule! Other than getting stuck in a pond after the ice broke through these tires can handle just about any situation and they wear good. I am a big fan and they are a little bit cheaper than some other brands......highly recommended!!!

 

Just make sure you keep the ratio of the front tire diameter to the rear the same (1:1). I know you are just looking at different widths, but this could save a headache if you did decide to go up on diameter.

 

Hi guys, my friend has an '03 Polaris Sportsman 700. He wants to replace his stock tires. He originally wanted to go with 27" Mud Bugs or even 26" Mud Bugs. He would go with 8" width on the front and 12" width on the back. Will he have to add wheel spacers to do this?

 

If he stays with the stock wheels and goes 27" yes he will need spacers or a lift.
Aftermarket wheels have a different offset to put them out farther away from the suspention.
26" should be fine.
12" is wide in the rear but doable.
