I was doing some riding last weekend and the temp light came on. The fan was coming on but it just was not cooling. The quad was spewing antifreeze out of the overflow bottle. I took it home and the next morning I cleaned out the radiator (externally). I put in some more fluid through the over flow bottle. It sucked the fluid back to the radiator. I did not have any more problems on sunday. Is there a filler tube for the radiator or is it always put in through the overflow bottle?

its common for the radiaitor to get clogged up with mud and making the quads overheat.what i do is wash out the radiator after every ride so it doesnt acumulate..the way to fill the coolant system is to add it thru the reservoir,or you could also remove the frt. rack and pull the hood off and add it to the radiator, its easier to add it to the reservoir..try to keep the radiator clean and it should be fine, keep an eye on the level of coolant in case the system has any air still in it and it decides to berp,it may need a bit more.

I drilled/tapped my overflow cap and attached a clear vent hose. This kkeps out dirt, and allows much easier filling!

My SP had a lot of overheating problems, defective thermo-sensor and cooling fan problems. Ate up a bunch of coolant as well. You can access the rad by removing the front rack and pulling the plastic "hood" to top it off. I just wish they could have made the reservoir easier to access, as well as the oil filler location, oh well.

Take the shroud off and really clean it I thought i was cleaning mine well, and the fan was still coming on allot i took the shroud off the front 6 bolts and holy crap! there was only about 1/4 of my radiator that wasnt covered with 1/2 inch of mud! caked on like cement, there were actually stick the size of cigarettes on it! i cleaned it off and the fan only came on once in my last ride were as the last couple months it came on constantly. I thought i was spraying it out good but all is was doing was pushing it up against the radiator. anyone who has there fan coming on take the shroud off and clean it out, i am not a heavy mudder by any means and mine was caked with mud big time I could not beleive how much was there. i am surprised i did not overheat.
