Ive had a problem lately with the chain on my 00 Scrambler 500. It seems to have a "bad spot" in the chain that "klunks" on every rotation. (Seems to be hitting on the pad on top right before it gets to the front sprocket) It only does it when your on the gas and the chain is under tension. I have lubed the chain repeatedly and it has not solved the problem. Is there any thing you can soak a chain in to clean out the crap? Has anyone else had this problem? Really dont want to replace chain as its not that old, but guess i'll have to if no other solution.

if your scrambler is less than a year old your dealer should replace the chain free. they have a one year warranty on the chain

I had the same problem on my wifes trail boss. On mine, the bad spot turned out to be the master link. I just replaced it myself and it seems to be fine. Look back in the forum a few weeks, I had a similar post titled Chain Popping or something to that effect. A lot of good information was posted on this subject.

Take your chain off and put it in an electric frying pan at 220 degrees pour 80w90 over the chain till it is covered then let it cook for awhile. then turn of the frying pan let the oil cool completly and then take out the chain ,hang it up to let the oil run off into the frying pan. i belive it was thor that told us this, and man it works great. i have done it once now and it solved my stiff chain problems.

I wonder if that recipe would be good breaded or maybe blackened. I love cajun blackened chain.
