Default pull starter

I have a 2001 scrammy 500 can anybody tell me where the decompression release is so you can pull start it?Also my rope is broke off has anybody replaced the rope if so can u tell me how?

pull the pull starter. wind recoil all the way out. hold steady. take old rope out of recoil assembly. put in new rope about 3-4 feet long let recoil automaticallly suck it back in. if too much rope, pull all the way out again, pull rope around to little notch in the plastic housing and continue to spin in same direction as it would spin if you pulled the rope. spin 2-3 times let rope pout of notch and allow to wind up...not sure about decompression switch i have never actually heard of one on a polaris. my old 426 dirtbike had one though

the rope broke so it has already came out. also when I was trying to pull start it was extremly hard figured must be a decompression lever on it

You have to take the cover off. I had mine break about 2 months ago. Not hard at all to replace. If you have any questions send me a message.
