Guys, I am in termoil here. I have a 99 ZX-7R Ninja with 2700 miles on it. The pay off is 9100.00. The dealerships want to rape me for 2900.00 to trade in the bike. They only want to give me 6200.00 for the ninja and then turn around and charge me the full 6999.00 for the SP500 HO. This is going to total me out at 10,000.00 for a new SP 500. Do you think it is worth it to take the loss of the money to save a 100 bucks a month in insurance. They said the payment would stay the same for 60 months at 208.00 a month. So in essence I would be getting a machine that could be used year round. Let me know your opinion!!! P.S. I live in northern ohio the bike season was 4 months long this year.

Sounds like a serious haircut to take to get a new atv. What dealer are you working with? You might want to try Honda East in Toledo. I know that they advertise taking motorcycles on trade. Have you looked up the book value on the motorcycle? Try www.kbb.com to see what the book value is. Its a tough time of year to sell a bike in northern Ohio. I know what you mean about the 4 months of riding motorcycles up hear. I sold my Yamaha motorcycle because I was tired of paying insurance on something that sat idle so much. Email me if you want information on Honda East in Toledo. (They sell all brands including Kawasaki and Polaris).

I can't blame you for wanting to sell the bike. One of my Harleys is up for sale. Know I'm going to shead some tears as I see a new owner drive it off. Will keep the Chopper cause its been with me for 21 years. It's suicide everytime you get on the roads around here with all the morons moving in. You will be taking it in the shorts with that new of a bike, same as anything else. One consellation is after riding motorcycles for about 45 years is that I have 10 times more fun trail riding with my wife on our Polaris's. Getting away from all the people and having some fun may be worth giving up your Ninja even if you lose a little on the deal.

I kept my Harley Road King, but traded a 95 Buell I had $5500 in for a 2000 sportsman 500. I rode the Buell once or twice a week, but the quad is ridden every day by everyone in the family. Now we have to buy another quad. Hard choice,if it's your only street bike , but I do notice there are no Police or speed limits in the woods.
